Wojtek Powaga (b. February 18, 1972) is the group's lead guitar player. Concertgoers have oft mentioned the intense passion with which he plays his instrument, which is a far cry from his original career being an engineer. Wojtek describes music as a way of life; means to pay the rent, time with friends, passion, fun, and work. Getting started with the band was a bit of chance. Wojtek met Artur Rojek when trying to buy a CD (Snopowiązałka by Voo Voo) from him. Artur said something to the extent of, "I heard you can play the guitar. I'm starting a band. Do you want to join?" and Wojtek said "Sure!" and ended up being the only other original member of The Freshmen to stick around until the name change and, after that, international fame.
He was responsible for some of the photos that appeared on the Korova Milky Bar ENG album booklet, and he contacted people about the Best of album cover. The email he sent out wasn't all that exciting, but you can bet your left hand I was crapping my pants. In a jubilant sort of way, of course.
Wojtek is pretty known for his sense of humor, also.
